Save Up To £5000 on New Doors and Windows

Green Homes Grant Scheme – New doors and windows

It was announced that the government will be offering a grant of up to £5000 for home across England and a £10,000 grant to homes with a low income to help home owners make their home greener, save money on energy bills and overall, help improve the stock of homes on offers.

Unlike the Green Plan Scheme, this will not be a government loan and instead be grant meaning there is nothing to pay back!

What is the Green Home Grants Scheme?

The aim of the scheme is to enable homeowners to upgrade their homes and properties with energy-saving features, such as insulation or double glazing, to reduce energy usage and improve the energy efficiency of a property.

Most homeowners across England will be able to apply for a voucher of up to 2/3rds of the value (capped at £5,000), whilst those on low incomes will receive 100% relief up to £10,000. Depending on which category you fall into, the scheme works slightly differently.

The Green Homes Grant scheme voucher will cover double and triple glazed windows providing you are upgrading from single glazing and composite doors providing you are upgrading from a low efficiency door. Homeowners can only use the grant for these measures if upgrading from single glazing.

If you already have the above energy saving measures in your home, you might be wondering if you’re still eligible to use the grant. This grant only covers new windows and doors if you have single glazing. It will not cover upgrading from double glazing to a more energy efficient double glazing. This scheme does not cover upgrades on existing double glazing products.

To get the voucher you will need to obtain quote first. Use our online quoter to get yours! After you have submitted your quote the scheme will issue the voucher. The Green Homes Grant Scheme will open in September and will take place via the Simple Energy Advice website.

The grant is expected to launch in September 2020 and ends in March 2021 and will only be available to TrustMark Registered Businesses like ours.
